What is AI Chat?

AI Chat allows you to ask natural language questions about a company's financials and receive detailed, data-driven answers. It analyzes data from the company's connected accounting data sources to provide insights on revenue, expenses, cash flow, profitability, and more.

Requirements

To use AI Chat for a company, they must have:

  • Connected accounting data - QuickBooks or Xero

How to Create a Chat

  1. Navigate to the Chats page
  1. On a new chat, select a company
      • Choose a company with accounting data connected
      • Companies without accounting data won't provide useful analysis
        • Notion image
  1. The chat will begin analysis automatically
      • The AI model will generate an initial analysis and summary
      • This will often include financial overview, key metrics, and notable insights

Understanding Responses

Data-driven answers:

  • All responses are based on actual accounting data
  • Answers include specific numbers, trends, and calculations based on data from Xero and/or QuickBooks

If answers seem incomplete:

  • Ask follow-up questions for more detail
  • Rephrase your question
  • Request specific time periods or breakdowns

If data seems wrong:

  • Check the company's โ€œData Sourcesโ€ page for last sync date to verify the company's accounting system is up to date

Privacy & Access

Your chats are private to you

  • Only you can see your chats and chat history
  • Other members of your organization cannot view your chats

Why? This allows you to explore ideas and questions freely without cluttering other team members' views.

Collaboration: While chats are private, you can share insights manually with your team by copying responses and insights (try hovering over a response!)
