Connecting accounting data
Connect your accounting software account to securely share financial data with your investor. This takes less than 5 minutes and uses secure OAuth authentication.
Before You Start
You'll need:
- Accounting software account
- Admin access to your accounting system
Connecting Accounting Software
Step-by-Step
- Log into Verified Metrics
- If you already have an VM account but don’t have the log in link, please reach out to support@verifiedmetrics.com

- If you haven’t connected any accounting data yet, on the Dashboard page, click “Connect your accounting software” and select the accounting software

- Or, you can navigate to Data Connection
- Click the "Connect Data Source" button and select Xero, QuickBooks Online, or Zoho Books
- If you're using other accounting software, Click "Other Accounting" to see the list of other supported accounting software integrations


- Authenticate with accounting software
- You'll be redirected to accounting software secure login page
- Log in with your accounting software credentials
- Authorize Access
- Review the permissions
- Select the entity you want to connect and grant access
- You'll be redirected back to Verified Metrics
- Confirm Connection You'll see your entities and your data will begin syncing (This will normally take less than 5 minutes, but can be longer for entities with many years of data). Your investor will be notified when data is available.
- Connect Additional Entities
You can always connect additional sources if you are managing multiple accounting sources across different accounting software accounts, in order to give your investors a full picture of your company’s financials.
How Often Does Data Sync?
Initial Sync:
This happens immediately after connection and includes all historical data.
Ongoing Syncs:
This happens automatically every 24 hours, ensuring your investor always has current data.
How to Verify It's Working
After connecting, check the list of accounting sources on the Data Sources page:
- Status shows "Connected"
- Data Status shows “Up-to-date” or "Updated DD MMM, YYYY" (i.e. Updated 6 Jan, 2026)
