Sending files via email
You can send files/documents into your company's data room by sending/forwarding them to a dedicated email address. This is useful when files arrive over email and you'd rather not download and re-upload them.
Your ingestion email address
Your company has a unique email address for forwarding documents. You can find it in the special Inbox folder on your Files page.
Treat this address like an internal mailbox - only people on your team should know it. Forwarded attachments will appear in your data room.
How it works
- Send/forward an email with attachments to your ingestion address
- The attachments will appear in the Inbox folder of your data room
- From there, you can move the files to a different folder or delete them like any other upload
The file's metadata will show the original sender, recipient, and email subject — visible to anyone in your company.
Who can send/forward documents
Only registered Verified Metrics users from your company can forward documents to your ingestion address.
Emails from personal addresses, third-party tools, or automated senders (such as bank statements or invoices) will be dropped.
Limits
- Total attachment size per email is limited to around 30 MB. For larger files, upload them directly through the app — direct uploads support up to 100 MB.
- Forwarded attachments always land in the Inbox folder.
