Requesting data from a company
Send a data request to portfolio companies to access their live data, unlocking automated Excel models, AI chat analysis, and more.
How to Send a Data Request
- Navigate to the company's page
- Click "Request Data"
- Enter the request recipient’s email (CFO, founder, or finance lead)
- It’s best if the recipient is someone who can connect company data to Verified Metrics
- The recipient’s email address needs to match the company’s website/domain (this is for security purposes, to ensure recipients are actually associated with your company)
- Click "Send request"
The contact will receive an invitation to join Verified Metrics and share their company data with you and other members of your organization on Verified Metrics.
You will also receive email notifications when a company responds to your request and connects company data.
What Data Can Companies Share?
Companies can share:
- Accounting data (QuickBooks, Xero) - enables automated Excel models and AI chat
- Banking data - unlocks access to bank account balances
- File uploads - key financial statements, cap tables, documents
Once accounting data is connected, you can create Excel models and use AI chat.
Tracking Your Requests

- Request Pending: Invitation sent, waiting for response
- Data Being Shared: Company has shared data - you will also see what kind of data the company has connected
- Request Declined: The invited user from the company declined to share data - if you think this was a mistake, you can always create a new request
